Employers asked to help employees affected by Tino

The Freeman

November 09, 2025

Mayor Nestor Archival has called on employers in Cebu City to show compassion toward their workers, many of whom continue to face hardship following the recent storm.

In a public message, he urged business owners to treat their employees like family and extend practical support where possible.

Among his appeals: employers are encouraged to check in on their staff, allow charging of essential devices at the office, and provide modest financial assistance to those in need.

For companies unable to offer direct aid, Archival suggested allowing cash advances to be deducted from future salaries.

He also asked employers to consider releasing half or full portions of the 13th month pay ahead of schedule to help workers support their families.
