Economic team to brief House on proposed P6.79-T 2026 budget

The four-man economic team of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. will brief the House of Representatives today, August 18, on the proposed P6.793-trillion national budget for 2026.

The Development Budget Coordination Committee (DBCC), composed of Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman, Finance Secretary Ralph Recto, Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Arsenio Balisacan, and Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Governor Eli Remolona, will present the government's spending plan before the House plenary led by Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez.

Formal budget deliberations will begin Wednesday, August 20, with the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (PAGCOR) and the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) set to defend their allocations under the proposed National Expenditure Program.
