DSWD taps telco, e-wallet for 4Ps cash grant releasing
The Freeman
|March 25, 2025
Globe and GCash have partnered with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) to help 4Ps (Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program) families participate in digital services by providing them with smartphones.
This move aims to promote financial inclusion and improve their daily lives.
Under the “Pre-loved Phone Donation Drive,” Globe is donating refurbished smartphones, allowing 4Ps beneficiaries to use GCash for safer and faster financial transactions.
According to Carl Cruz, Globe's Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO), this initiative is part of Globe's commitment to ensuring that no Filipino is left behind in the country's digital transformation.
Currently, many Level 1 4Ps families rely on ATMs to withdraw their grants of P2,000 to P5,000 every two months. However, with smartphones and access to GCash, beneficiaries can now receive their grants securely and manage their money more efficiently.
