CPPO starts deployment of poll security personnel

The Cebu Police Provincial Office (CPPO) has begun deploying security personnel to ensure honest, orderly, and peaceful elections across Cebu Province.

Ahead of the deployment, a send-off ceremony was held on Tuesday, May 6, at the CPPO Multi-Purpose Grounds.

The event was led by Acting Provincial Director Police Colonel Jovito Atanacio and Cebu Provincial Election Supervisor Atty. Marchel C. Sarno.

Fr. Recto Frando graced the occasion and offered prayers and blessings for CPPO personnel, including members of the 1st and 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Companies, as well as the vehicles and equipment to be used during election duties.

Police Captain Dun Blane Tabares, CPPO's public information office chief, said that as of last night there were 3,200 police personnel deployed for poll duties in Cebu.

“So far, as of last night, mga 3,200 personnel to ang i-deploy. But this is just an initial figure. Pero kaning 3,200 personnel nagsugod na ni sila og deployed. Ang uban naabot na pero ang uban padung pa lang labi na tong na assign sa layo nga area,” Tabares told The Freeman.
