Contractors told to report on drainage systems

To tackle longtime flooding here, Cebu City Mayor Nestor Archival directed contractors of public infrastructure projects to submit a complete inventory of drainage systems connected to their work.

The directive was issued during his meeting with representatives from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), amid growing concerns over implementation delays and inadequate flood mitigation measures.

“Met with DPWH officials and contractors to address ongoing delays and urgent concerns in several key infrastructure projects, especially those affecting flood-prone areas and road networks,” he said via his social media.

According to the city’s PIO, DPWH presented the major projects currently underway in both the northern and southern parts of the city.
