CEBU DRIVES TOWARD A GREENER FUTURE WITH BYD
The Freeman
|May 16, 2025
Cebu is a bustling and thriving province that is gradually embracing sustainability, as highlighted by BYD's successful launch of its electric vehicles across the region.
With around 500 units sold just a year after its inauguration in Cebu—and beyond the convenience and lower maintenance—Cebuanos have proven to be strong allies in the push for greener, cleaner mobility.
BYD Cebu Group now operates four stores. The first, located in Mandaue City, was launched last year. On Tuesday, May 13, 2025, three new stores were opened simultaneously in a single day—at Ayala Center Cebu, IL Corso, and BYD Cebu Central, the flagship in the Visayas and biggest showroom in the country. On the same day, the BYD team also held a groundbreaking ceremony for its upcoming showroom in Minglanilla, further reinforcing its commitment to leading the way in sustainable electric mobility.
"We are very thankful for the response from Cebuanos—it allows us to better serve clients who are committed to sustainable mobility. I'm proud to say that we're the leader in this segment—new energy vehicles. We offer both pure electric and hybrid electric vehicles," said Edward Onglatco, president and chief executive officer (CEO) of BYD Cebu.
BYD'S CONVENIENT ISLAND-WIDE CHARGING
As BYD continues to expand, it already operates 12 charging stations in Cebu, all strategically located in key cities and connecting areas.
