Heavy rain forecast for city

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Red Alert warning of extremely heavy rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, for Mumbai and its neighbouring districts of Raigad and Thane from Sunday through Monday morning.
A Red Alert, indicating the likelihood of extremely heavy rainfall in isolated pockets, will remain in effect until Monday morning, after which an Orange Alert has been issued as a precautionary measure. Palghar district has also been placed under a Red Alert for two consecutive days Sunday and Monday due to the forecast of intense rainfall.
