The OM-1 Mark II--Introduced in India on January 30, 2024--is the successor to the tried and tested OM-1 (introduced in India on February 15, 2022).
The new iteration is amazing in terms of its build quality, features as well as performance. We received the OM-1 Mark II body for review with its 12-40 mm f/2.8 Pro lens. Let's see how this combo fares on our testbench...
Design & build quality
The Micro Four Thirds body is made with magnesium alloy for strength and durability. It comes with IP53 certified weather sealing. The camera body is lightweight (599 g including its battery and one memory card). The camera is made in Japan.
Key features
The OM-1 Mark II is a 20.4-megapixel Micro Four Thirds System camera. It utilises a Backside Illuminated Stacked Live MOS imaging sensor with a fast read-out speed of 8 ms. A fast read-out speed sensor plays an important role in minimizing any rolling shutter distortions.
Like most cameras today, the OM-1 Mark II comes with a multitude of features--in fact, too many to describe in this review. So here are a few of the amazing features this camera offers:
● Artificial Intelligence (AI) Subject Detection AF for humans, birds, pets, cars, trains and aircrafts--provides fast and accurate autofocus.
