Stalin seeks Modi's help on Metro

Chief Minister M K Stalin has forwarded a pointed letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi pressing for intervention after the Union Government returned the detailed proposals for metro rail projects in Coimbatore and Madurai.
Stalin described his state’s reaction as one of “deep resentment” over the decision and called for an immediate review of the criteria used by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs in rejecting the bids.
Stalin’s letter states that his government has directed the Department of Special Initiatives to furnish detailed responses to each of the issues raised by MoHUA, including the population benchmark of 2 million set under the 2017 Metro Rail Policy.
