Police clear Vijay's Erode rally

Police authorities on Sunday granted permission for Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam chief Vijay to hold a public meeting in Erode district on December 18, ending days of uncertainty around the event after organisers met a detailed list of conditions and secured clearance from temple authorities.

The meeting is scheduled between ll am and | pm at Vijayamangalam, near Erode, on a 16-acre parcel of land owned by a private temple that comes under the control of the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments department. Officials confirmed that the decision followed the submission of a No Objection Certificate by the temple administration and assurances from the organisers that all safety and regulatory requirements would be fulfilled.
