Leaders say ongoing investigation indicates a cover-up of political role

Senior leaders of the opposition have called for the Central Bureau of Investigation to assume control of the investigation into alleged gold-plating irregularities at the Sabarimala Temple, demanding the probe be placed under the supervision of the Kerala High Court.

They argue that the current investigation is too limited and serves to shield senior officials from accountability.

The High Court has ordered the Special Investigation Team to carry out a comprehensive scientific examination of gold-plated plates and copper coverings installed in the temple's sanctum, including weighing items and taking samples to determine misappropriation.
