The political controversy over "vote theft" allegation is deepening with each passing day.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) is being accused of protecting those responsible for alleged irregularities in counting. The claims by the Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, which he stated are backed by “100 percent proof,” have been centred around alleged voter deletions in the Aland Assembly constituency in Karnataka.

The allegations have been met with swift and strong reactions from both the ECI and the ruling BJP.
