JOB ROW | Organisations allege Latur youths sidelined in Marathwada Rail Coach Factory recruitment; demand probe and fair hiring policy
Several local organisations have objected to the alleged exclusion of Latur-based candidates in the recruitment process of the Marathwada Rail Coach Factory. On Monday, members of these groups submitted a memorandum to the District Collector demanding that 80% of the jobs at the factory be reserved for youths from Latur district.
The memorandum stated that the factory was established to create employment opportunities for locals, yet candidates from other states are being given preference. The complainants alleged that despite possessing qualifications and technical skills, local youths are being overlooked in favour of applicants from Gujarat, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and South India.
