Cabinet approves ₹1,000 cr Judicial City in Kalamassery

The state Cabinet approved plans to establish a new High Court complex and Judicial City in Kalamassery, Ernakulam, by acquiring 27 acres of land held by Hindustan Machine Tools.

The project cost is estimated to exceed ₹1,000 crore. Minister for Industries, Coir and Law P. Rajeev shared the decision via his official Facebook page.

The Public Works Department has already drawn up a preliminary blueprint. The design envisions three multi-storey towers, with a total built-up area exceeding 12 lakh square feet, housing 61 court halls, the registrar's office, an auditorium, administrative and library blocks, an arbitration centre, a recruitment cell, information centre, chambers for advocates, and the Advocate General's office.
