Residents protest party nuisance

Residents of Koregaon Park, an upscale residential area of Pune, have raised concerns over persistent nuisance caused by restro bars operating in residential pockets, particularly along Lane No. 7, stretching from QORA Cocktail Bar & Kitchen to Koregaon Park Police Station Road.

Residents of Suyojana Bungalow Society allege that valet parking by restro bars has resulted in guest vehicles being parked illegally on footpaths, forcing pedestrians, especially senior citizens, to walk on the road, posing serious safety risks. “The footpath meant for walking has become completely inaccessible. This is extremely dangerous for elderly residents,” said Rishikesh Palekar, who lives near the Koregaon Park Police Station. Residents told The Free Press Journal (FPJ) that they have submitted multiple complaints and photographic evidence to the traffic police, but no concrete action has followed. Requests to install bollards to prevent illegal parking have also allegedly been ignored.
