Pune to lead India in cycling

Pune Municipal Commissioner Naval Kishore Ram has announced that the city will soon have a 75km network of dedicated cycle paths as part of an ambitious plan to make Pune the “cycling capital of India”.

“Pune is known for its rich cycling culture. Now it is time to revive this tradition and make Pune the cycling capital of India. We aim to create a network of about 75km of cycle paths across the city so that cyclists of all ages, from children to senior citizens, can travel safely,” Ram said while addressing cyclists at the HindAyan Shaniwarwada to Sinhagad Bike and Hike initiative.
