GR soon on Kunbi status for family lineage

Agreeing to a key Maratha demand of Kunbi status to everyone in the lineage of those already holding the certificates, the state government has said it will soon issue a Government Resolution (GR) in this regard.

Moreover, the Satara Gazetteer will be implemented within a month, after review and rectification of local-level discrepancies. The other demands that have been met are withdrawal of all pending cases against Maratha protesters by September-end, government jobs for kin of deceased protesters (based on educational qualification), financial assistance of Rs15 crore to families of protesters who lost their lives (to be distributed within a week), and clearance of pending caste certificate scrutiny cases for timely benefits.
