Gold futures rise as weak rupee offsets Fed worries

Gold futures on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) rose on Thursday as a weakening rupee against the US dollar supported domestic bullion prices.
However, gains in the precious metal were limited as rising crude oil prices revived concerns about global inflation, dampening expectations of an early interest rate cut by the US Federal Reserve.A depreciating rupee generally pushes domestic gold prices higher as the precious metal is imported and priced in dollars but traded locally in rupees.
