Growing up, I've always been curious about how global perspectives shape education, business, and innovation, which inspired me to pursue higher studies abroad.

- Agrima Sandhu

The opportunity to study at UNSW, a top 20 university, appealed to me because of its strong academic programs, diverse learning environment, and emphasis on research and critical thinking.

So, my high school math teacher, Ms. Meenakshi Verma, played a huge role in shaping my academic path. I went from barely tolerating math to genuinely enjoying and eventually falling in love with the subject. So, when it came time to apply for universities, I knew I wanted to pursue something related to mathematics. However, I found that a pure math degree was too content-heavy and lacked sufficient real-world applications.

The first time I read about UNSW’s Actuarial Studies program, I was immediately drawn to it. From its engaging curriculum to its global reputation as the largest and most respected actuarial program in the world, I knew this was the right fit for me. Further research on double degree opportunities offered by Australian universities, including UNSW, convinced me to combine my interests in mathematics and economics, leading me to pursue the Actuarial Studies and Economics program. The process of shortlisting universities was guided by a mix of program content, reputation, employability and teaching style
