Cong reacts to PM Modi’s X post after Trump’s Russian oil claim

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday acknowledged the receipt of a phone call from President of the United States Donald Trump and expressed his gratitude for his warm Diwali greetings.

Meanwhile, the Congress charged that Modi-Trump bonhomie was over and that the US President had also called to pressure India to give up its Russian oil purchases. It also claimed that while Modi "conceals" the entire facts, Trump "reveals" them all.

The PM today thanked Trump for his "personal call" on Diwali. He wrote on "X": "Thank you, President Trump, for your phone call and warm Diwali greetings. On this festival of lights, may our two great democracies continue to illuminate the world with hope and stand united against terrorism in all its forms."
