Bus case chargesheet omits Mayor, husband
The Free Press Journal - Bhopal
|December 03, 2025
Thiruvananthapuram police have submitted a charge sheet that omits Arya Rajendran, the city mayor, and her husband, Sachin Dev MLA, in the case involving obstruction of a Kerala State Road Transport Corporation bus and alleged use of expletives.
Only the mayor's brother, identified as Aravind, has been named as an accused. The decision — effectively extends a clean chit to both the mayor and her husband in connection with the 2024 incident. The case centres on an altercation on April 27, 2024, when a KSRTC bus and a car carrying the mayor, her husband, and family members reportedly became embroiled in a dispute at Plamoodu in Thiruvananthapuram.
