Trump, Xi reach key trade deals in 'truly great meeting'

United States President Donald Trump on Thursday said he had a “truly great meeting” with Chinese President Xi Jinping in South Korea, announcing several agreements aimed at easing trade tensions and boosting cooperation between the world’s two largest economies.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump said the two leaders reached “many agreements,” including China’s decision to resume large scale purchases of American farm goods such as soybeans and sorghum — a move he described as “a great gesture” toward US farmers. “Our farmers will be very happy!” he wrote, urging them to “buy more land and larger tractors.”

Speaking aboard Air Force One, Trump confirmed that President Xi had authorised the immediate purchase of American agricultural products, following months of strained trade ties after China halted soybean imports in response to US tariff hikes.
