TOP-LEVEL MEET ASSESSES FLOOD PREPAREDNESS

LG directs clearing Yamuna of debris and construction materials for smooth flow.

Delhi LG, VK Saxena today chaired a meeting of Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) to review the flood control preparedness of all concerned agencies in the National Capital in wake of the incidents of heavy waterlogging across Delhi in recent days. Delhi Water Minister, Ms. Atishi Marlena was present in the meeting.

At the outset, the LG took stock of the flooding due to breach in the Munak Canal in North West Delhi, specially the Bawana Area. He was informed that all directions issued by LG were being executed on site. The CEO- DJB, who had come from the site for the meeting, informed that the breach was being repaired at a war footing and will be completed by tomorrow evening.
