Tharoor has political experience, but I am confident: Chandrasekhar

Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Union Minister of State for Skill Entrepreneurship, Development, Electronics & Technology, who is pitted against sitting MP from Thiruvananthapuram Sashi Tharoor, spoke exclusively to NewsX on his campaign trail. Edited excerpts from the interview.

Q: Can you share with us what the agenda looks like for today? 

A: Today's agenda is a regular campaign day where I meet people at various parts of the constituency. Thiruvananthapuram comprises seven assembly segments, and I spend one day each week covering one assembly segment. With six weeks left until the election, I'm ensuring to engage with every voter and citizen who desires change in Trivandrum.

Q: Could you elaborate on the need for change that you're hearing from the constituents?

A: Absolutely. Over the past 15 years, there's been a stagnation in development, particularly in the last five years under the current MP from the Congress. Despite being a minister in the previous government, very little was done for Thiruvananthapuram. The lack of implementation of Prime Minister Modi's transformative programmes has hindered progress. There's a clear desire among the people for change, to move the city forward, and that's what I aim to deliver.

Q: You mentioned the need for more opportunities, especially for the youth. How do you plan to address issues like unemployment and lack of infrastructure?
