Telangana on high alert as heavy rains lash state

With heavy rains continuing to lash several parts of Telangana, including Hyderabad city, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Tuesday directed all departments to remain on high alert and ensure the safety of citizens during the ongoing monsoon and Ganesh festivities.

The Chief Minister chaired a high-level review with senior officials and instructed the administration to focus on preventive safety measures.

He specifically ordered officials to evacuate residents from old and dilapidated houses and shift them to safer shelters to avoid accidents during the incessant downpour.

Revanth Reddy also directed energy department officials to take all precautions in electricity supply, stressing that power safety was crucial as thousands of devotees visit Ganesh pandals every day during the festival season.
