‘People were crying for help’: Renu’s...

The Daily Guardian

June 13, 2026

Amid the chaos was Renu. Not a firefighter. Not a police officer. Just a resident who saw people trapped and decided there was no time to wait.

Speaking exclusively to NewsX, Renu recalled the terrifying moments before emergency services reached the spot. “People were shouting for help from inside. We could hear them crying and calling out. At that time, we were not thinking about ourselves. We just wanted to get them out.”

She said she entered the smoke-filled building and helped rescue seven or eight people before Delhi Fire Services teams arrived.
