LG reviews desilting plan ahead of monsoon

Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu on Friday reviewed the Delhi Development Authority's desilting action plan and assessed the preparedness of key agencies ahead of the onset of the monsoon season.
During the high-level review meeting, the Lieutenant Governor took stock of measures being undertaken to prevent waterlogging and ensure smooth drainage across vulnerable areas of the national capital.
Officials said the status of the Desilting Action Plan 2026 was examined in detail, with special focus on critical stretches and identified waterlogging hotspots. Sandhu also reviewed the operational preparedness of the Central Flood Control Room, which is scheduled to become fully functional before June 15.
