Be it the 1949 Willys Jeep Wagon or the 1963 Jeep Wagoneer or the 1972 Jeep Cherokee, the first four-door 4WD SUV in the world was always a Jeep. In fact, with the Grand Cherokee in 1992, Jeep again beat all to make the first four-door SUV with unibody construction. For reference, the X5 came in 1999; the first unibody Range Rover in 2001; the XC90 in 2002; the Q7 in 2005, and the first unibody M-Class in 2005. 

However, Jeep was the last to enter India and its flagship hasn’t made a strong impact yet. 

I tested it for over a week to understand whether it deserves to sell more, or not.  it for a Jeep Meridian.

Interiors 

This is the only chink in the Jeep Grand Cherokee’s armour. No, there’s nothing wrong with the quality and there’s no dearth of features. It’s just that the cabin doesn’t feel special.

However, the Jeep hits back by boasting the largest number of physical buttons and switches in the segment. That’s something even Euro NCAP advocates—from 2026, it will award the highest score of 5 stars to only those vehicles that have physical controls, and not touchscreens, for key features.
