India's performance at the Hangzhou Asian Games has created a remarkable chapter in the nation's sporting history. The 660-strong Indian contingent returned home with a record haul of 107 medals, which included 28 gold, 38 silver, and 41 bronze. This outstanding achievement marks a significant leap from the 2018 Jakarta Games, with India securing 37 more medals in Hangzhou.

What makes this achievement even more impressive is the excellence displayed in disciplines like shooting and archery, where India delivered its best-ever performances. Shooting contributed the most gold medals, with seven, while athletics added six golds to the tally. Archery, which had garnered only two silver medals in the previous edition, stunned everyone with nine medals, including five gold.
The success story of India's compound archers deserves special mention as they secured all five gold medals. Jyothi Surekha Vennam and Ojas Pravin Deotale emerged as the stars with three gold medals each, becoming the top gold medalists among Indian athletes.
