IAF on Standby as Kishtwar Cloudburst Toll Rises

Two Mi-17 helicopters and one Advanced Light Helicopter are currently on standby at Jammu and Udhampur, ready to deploy once weather conditions improve, sources said.

Rescue teams, including the J&K Police, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), are working round the clock to locate survivors and recover bodies. The local community has stepped in to provide shelter, food, and medical aid to those affected. Officials fear many victims may still be trapped under debris, with witnesses reporting at least 60-70 people missing.
