India is set to challenge China and other leading nations in the production of lithiumion batteries, with Asia's first mega lithium battery manufacturing project inaugurated at IMT Sohna, Haryana. On Thursday, Japanese company ATL launched the facility with an investment of over 3,000 crore. The project is expected to create more than 5,000 direct jobs.
Equipped with state-of-the-art technology, the unit is poised to redefine Haryana's industrial identity.
Union Electronics and Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw inaugurated the project in the presence of Haryana's Industry and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh, senior TDK Group representatives Sato and Shashida, Chief Minister's Foreign Cooperation Advisor Pawan Chaudhary, and Pankaj Mahendru from ICWA.
