GANESHA CHATURTHI: WISDOM, NUMBERS AND NEW BEGINNINGS

This year, as per the Panchang, Ganesha Chaturthi will be observed on August 27 (Wednesday) and the beginning of ten sacred days of worship and festivity that concludes on Anant Chaturdashi, falling on September 6 (Saturday). The festival's foundation rests on Chaturthi tithi of Shukla Paksha in Bhadrapada month.

Interestingly, the day—Wednesday is ruled by Mercury—the very planet associated with Lord Ganesha as the giver of intellect, wisdom and communication & also resonates with the Chaldean number 5 which is also ruled by Mercury.

In other words, Ganesha is the ruling deity of the day—Wednesday. Notably, worshipping Lord Ganesha is also recommended as a remedial measure to pacify Mercury's energy by chanting Ganesha mantras alongside planetary mantras to seek well-rounded blessings.

There is a subtle Divine Numerological connection—Ganesha's association with Mercury. The name "Ganesha" also sums up to 23 reducing to 5 (2+3=5), as per Chaldean numerology, which again is ruled by Mercury—the planet of intellect, communication and adaptability.
