Farmers Take Out Tractor March Across India on R-Day to Press Their Demands

Farmers across Punjab took out tractor marches on the Republic Day, demanding a legal guarantee for Minimum Support Price (MSP), a complete loan waiver for farmers and labourers, and a rollback of policies perceived as anti-farmer.

The protest was organised under the banner of Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha (KMM) and Samyukta Kisan Morcha (non-political).

In Amritsar, hundreds of farmers led by SKM leaders parked tractors outside malls, retail outlets, and BJP leader Tarunjit Singh Sandhu's residence, to convey their displeasure with the Central government. Farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher stated, "This protest is being carried out across the country. In Punjab, we targeted corporate locations and political offices to amplify our voices."
