Decluttering can be interesting

Before Diwali, tidying up of cupboards and storage areas is done in most of the homes. However, in our home, such activity goes on throughout the year.

I do feel edgy whenever my wife is on a decluttering spree of the cupboards. No, I don't have any shady stuff hidden in them. Yet, I am often left red-faced. Once, she discovered a few pink bank notes. Obviously, I had overlooked exchanging them after demonetization. I got to hear exactly what I had anticipated. 'You don't seem to value money.' Sometimes, expired medicines are also found. In that scenario, I am made to feel as worthless as them. Leaked batteries in unused remotes are also a significant complication.
