Become a problem-solver
The Daily Guardian
|October 11, 2025
Itis said that problems are the creation of weak minds.
It is not as if those with weak minds purposefully create problems, rather their mental weaknesses cause them to act in ways that result in problems. Here, a ‘weak mind’ does not necessarily mean one without intelligence. It means a mindset that lacks resilience, perspective, or emotional maturity, often because the mind is under the influence of one or more weaknesses, such as fear, jealousy, selfishness, ete.
Such a mind also magnifies problems. It panics or catastrophizes, seeing a small inconvenience as a life-altering crisis. A missed deadline feels like a career-ending failure. Ego also plays its part, and the person may take problems very personally, making them feel bigger than they are. “This happened to me” becomes “Why always me?” or “This proves Iam not good enough.”
Under stress, the mind may also zoom in on the problem, blocking out context, options, or solutions. It is like staring at a wall so closely that you forget there are doors nearby. And when one lacks mental strategies to cope, even minor setbacks feel overwhelming.
