In spite of great advances in healthcare, women's health still suffers from a variety of challenges that prevent them from accessing quality care. These issues not only impact women's physical and psychological health but also perpetuate disparities in healthcare outcomes.

One of the foremost barriers in women's health is restricted access to reproductive health care services, including birth control and abortion procedure. It is felt by a number of women, particularly in the low-income households, which have limited access to life-saving services because of factors such as geography, absence of coverage by an insurance plan or discriminatory laws.

As a step towards bridging this obstacle, more medical insurance coverage, increased financing for community health centres and the protection of reproductive rights should prove to be of immense assistance to women.

Another significant obstacle is the stigma of mental illness encompassing postpartum depression and anxiety.
