Art Deco swimming venue to hold 90th anniversary celebrations

THE Jubilee Pool in Penzance is marking its 90th anniversary with a weekend full of events.

Britain's largest seawater pool, the Grade II-listed Art Deco lido was opened in 1935 to celebrate King George V’s silver jubilee.
After a period of decline in the 1970s as lidos became less popular it closed in 1992 but was restored by the Jubilee Pool Association, reopening in 1994.
In 2017 it became a social enterprise and now operates as a community benefit society, owned and operated by and for the people of the town and surrounding area.
