SA HOPES: ISIVUNGUVUNGU AND BEACH BOMB IN ACTION AT TOMORROW'S BREEDERS' CUP MEETING
-
The two-day Breeders' Cup meeting is one of the great international racing events and this year South Africa has interest in this year's event which will take place at Del Mar Racecourse in the USA.
The first half of the meeting will be run today while tomorrow sees the bigger events taking place and this is where we have local interest.
The first former SA runner in action will be Grade 1 winning sprinter Isivunguvungu who will take his place in the Grade 1 Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint over 1000m. He will run in the Hollywood Syndicate colours and will face 14 opponents.
A few races later last year's Cape Fillies Guineas winner Beach Bomb will line-up in the Grade 1 Breeder's Cup Filly & Mare Turf over 2200m. She will be taking on 12 rivals and will be racing in the familiar blue and white Drakenstein colours.
Both runners are trained by Graham Motion and have been priced up at 20-1.
