Teachers Give MEC, Dept a Fail Mark

North West education MEC Viola Motsumi is still embroiled in a war of words with teachers after she allegedly called them "lazy" and "incompetent".

The MEC made the statement in an address at Ngaka Modiri Molema last week.

She expressed concern about underperforming teachers and demanded that they shape up or ship out, telling them to toe the line or resign.

Some of the teachers took to social media to express anger at the MEC.

"We outrightly reject and condemn the reckless utterances made by MEC Motsumi, who has shamefully chosen to scapegoat hardworking teachers for the systemic failures of her department.
