Swiatek for grand slam success

The main focus of this weekend's racing will be on Hollywoodbets Kenilworth with the running of the Grade 1 Hollywoodbets Cape Guineas over 1600m.

Some of the greatest horses in the country have made their names by winning this race and tomorrow's event has the potential to do so again as a lovely field has been assembled.

There are also five other features on the card, and all these races make up the Pick 6 which will have a R500,000 carryover with a likely pool of R3 million.

We will be focusing on this meeting as there is no racing on the Highveld over the weekend.

I have six rides on the nine-race card, including one in the Cape Guineas, so I'll be hoping for a massive run.

Let's get straight into the day and Race 1 is the Commonwealth Plate for Juveniles over 1000m and I ride Fyfield Legend who is one of four runners who have the benefit of experience, and he put together a really good effort on debut when beaten just under three lengths in the first baby race.

There has already been a winner out of the race so the form has been franked, and I'll be hoping for a massive run.

We do, however, have filly Champagne Castle to beat who ran in front of me last time but had excuses when getting left at the start.

With natural improvement and a better jump, she is the horse we all have to beat.

Watch the betting and canter past for the best guide to the chances of the un-raced runners.

Race 2 is an Open Maiden over 1200m and once again watch the betting and canter past for the best guide to the chances of the unraced runners.
