Stop exporting our riches

ANC Youth League president Collen Malatji is accusing Limpopo leaders of doing nothing as the province's riches are being taken out of it to swell the economy of others, leaving the locals poor.

"I am baffled that Limpopo is counted among the poor provinces in the country," Malatji said during an interview with The Citizen last week.

Malatji was in his home province to visit the queen of the Ba-Pedi clan in Mohlaletsi, outside Jane Furse in the Sekhukhune region of Limpopo.

"I was born and bred in Tafelkop, outside Groblersdal. The region is rich both in agriculture, mining and tourism. The three are the known main pillars of the Limpopo economy," he said.
