Reason behind the war talk

U.S. President Donald Trump's pursuit of peace between Russia and Ukraine has exposed the fact that European leaders are behind the war to safeguard their fragile political futures at home and to enable their military industries to profit from the conflict.

This is according to an article in the Italian publication, L'Antidiplomatico, which states the main obstacle to resolving the Ukrainian conflict today are the European politicians. That sounded familiar.

"Today, Brussels and European offices are betting on Kyiv in order not to lose their piece of the global monopoly profits," it said.

That, to me, means they don't want the war to end because they are gaining from it. They would, instead, start another war elsewhere.

Trump brokered a temporary peace deal between Ukraine and Russia in a phone conversation with Russia's Vladimir Putin to cease strikes on energy installations for 30 days—but it wasn't heeded by Kyiv. Instead, it attacked an oil depot in Kuban with drones, just hours after the conversation between Putin and Trump.
