RICKELTON: IN MASSIVE STAND WITH BAVUMA AFTER A FEW EARLY JITTERS
- The opener has put his hand up after replacing the injured Tony de Zorzi at the top of the order.
Opening batter Ryan Rickelton hit a brilliant 176 not out, while captain Temba Bavuma struck 106 to lead the Proteas to a commanding position after the first day of the second Test against Pakistan at Newlands in Cape Town yesterday.
The South Africans ended the day on an imposing 316/4 after winning the toss and electing to bat. They won a thrilling first Test by two wickets in Centurion last Sunday to go into this match 1-0 up.
