CURRIE CUP: GRIQUAS STAND IN THEIR WAY FOR TITLE

The Lions will be the big favourites when they host the 2025 Currie Cup final against Griquas at Ellis Park on Saturday. It will be the Joburg side's second consecutive appearance in the final after hosting the Sharks last year and they'll be out to make up for going down on the final hooter against the men from Durban a year ago.

Griquas will be seeking a rare Currie Cup triumph, having only won the trophy three times, the last occasion being in 1970 when they got the better of the then Northern Transvaal in Kimberley.

They were also awarded the Currie Cup in 1899 and 1911, as the best team in the country.
