Choisaanada Half-Brother on Sale

Classy gelding Choisaanada made history this season when he became the first horse ever to sweep the Highveld Winter Series.

The son of Querari followed up wins in the Betway Secretariat Stakes and 4Racing Egoli Mile with a courageous victory in the Grade 3 4Racing Sea Cottage Stakes. A R180,000 purchase from the 2023 National Yearling Sale, Choisaanada has already earned more than R1 million in prize money.

Sandown Stud, as Agent for Shadwell SA (Pty) Ltd, will be offering a Soqrat half-brother (Lot 174) to the classy Choisaanada at this year's Two Year Old Sale which will be held tomorrow and Friday at the Thoroughbred Breeders Association (TBA) complex in Germiston.

The pair were produced by unraced Redoute's Choice mare Musaanada, and hail from the family of numerous top-class performers including breed-shaping sire El Prado.

Sandown Stud will be offering a host of well-bred two-year-olds at the August Sale this year. Among the stallions represented are Buffalo Bill Cody, Canford Cliffs, Erik The Red, Querari and Rafeef.

Potential highlights to be found in Sandown's August string include Warrior's Way (Lot 186), a Rafeef half-brother to Equus Champion Nebraas, the Futura half-brother (Lot 275) to top-class sprinter Outlaw King, and the Querari colt (Lot 165) out of Listed East Cape Oaks winner Miss Scaramanga.

The latter colt is a three-parts brother to the Querari-sired G2 Prosport International Debutante winner Maryah and hails from the immediate family of world-class sprinter Sacred Kingdom.
