Chiefs need to win again

The MTN8 semi-final first legs and the opening round of the 2025-26 English Premier League make this a big weekend for football fans and TAB is celebrating the occasion with some mega opportunities for customers to win big, including a guaranteed R24-million pot for outright winners of Saturday's Soccer 13 and before that a bonanza Soccer 10 on Friday night, when the pool gets a R200,000 bonus kick start from TAB - and there's loads of good soccer to bet on with TAB before that!

Chiefs need to win again

Kaizer Chiefs supporters will be delighted with their away victory over Stellenbosch last Sunday, a result that gave them a rare winning start to the season.

It was only the third time in the last 10 seasons that Chiefs had won their opening game of a new league campaign and certainly something for their fans to savour after their team finished outside the top eight for the last two seasons.

Now, quickly on the heels of the trip to the Western Cape, comes another tough test of their credentials tonight, when they host Polokwane City at Soccer City in their second outing of the season.

Chiefs will be looking to end a poor home record against Polokwane - they have failed to win any of their previous four home games against the team from Limpopo and have gone over six hours of game time since they last scored a home goal against them.

Could Maharaj's Test spot be in danger?

It feels silly to even suggest this, but based on the performances of the country's strong spin bowling contingent, Keshav Maharaj's place in the national Test team might be in danger.
