Police appeal after ‘gun is fired by rider of electric bike’

A POLICE investigation has been launched after a gun was fired in a Gateshead street by a person riding an electric bike.

Loud bangs were heard by residents on Denton View, in the Winlaton area, last week.
Detectives are investigating after a suspected firearm was reported to have been discharged in the incident at 11.05pm last Thursday.
Northumbria Police said that a person had been riding a Sur-Ron-style electric bike in the street when they discharged a suspected firearm. No damage was caused and no-one was hurt.
