New project tells of 'love, life and loss'

A new exhibition supported by Newcastle University highlights "love, life and loss" of those to live and die with HIV - including people infected with the lethal virus through contaminated blood.

The HIVstory project in our region has been launched as part of a collaboration between the National HIV Story Trust (NHST) and Newcastle University.

The charity is devoted to filming, recording and preserving the history of those affected by the AIDS pandemic of the 1980s and 1990s.

Nick Thorogood, co-founder of the charity HIVstory, said: "It's a collection of 45 stories from our archive.
