NEWCASTLE United remain in a great position to qualify for next season's Champions League despite a 4-1 defeat in their last Premier League outing against fellow top-five chasers Aston Villa.

That outcome was made worse by Chelsea, Nottingham Forest and Manchester City all winning.
Yet another Champions League twist arrived on Tuesday evening with the latter going above Newcastle after scoring a stoppage time winner at home to Villa. That game had been brought forward due to both teams' FA Cup semi-final involvement, with Forest also playing at Wembley this weekend.
