SEAN Longstaff appears set to miss out on what would have been a poignant homecoming to ‘St James’ Park tomorrow evening as the midfielder continues his rehabilitation from a calf problem.

The lifelong Newcastle United supporter seemed destined for a reunion with his former club, whom he left during the summer transfer window, after being included amongst the substitutes for Sunday's encounter with Manchester United.
Yet, having been sidelined for the previous seven topflight fixtures, Longstaff is not expected to feature against Eddie Howe's side, barring a potential brief appearance from the bench.
